Craft 1- Balloon Painting!

If you've ever seen The Princess Diaries, you have probably contemplated throwing darts at paint-filled balloons. Soo maybe not, but we have. And, yes, it was as fun as it looks.

Supplies:
  • balloons (regular sized)
  • paint (preferably out of a satisfyingly squeezy bottle)
  • poster board/large paper
  • surface, a place to hang it (plywood, etc.)
  • darts!
  • push pin/anything to attach your balloons to the board
  • paper towels (trust us)
  • trash bag
  • a trustworthy friend who won't post pictures of you covered in paint on FB!
How to:
  1. Attach your paper to a surface.
  2. Now, as one friend holds open the balloon, squeeze the paint into the balloon. Try not to mix together too many colours; it won't blend well, and will look crappy. Also, try not to get paint on the rim of the balloon, it is DISGUSTING. Unless you're smart and have a balloon pump.
  3. Blow up your balloon. Note: it is best to have A LOT of paint in the balloon, and you blow it up as large as you can muster; this will make the paint splatter really well, thus producing the desired effect.
  4. Attach your balloon to the paper using push pins, or if you're super cool, duct tape.
  5. Make a bunch of them.
  6. BEST PART: throw darts at the balloons. good luck!

P.S. Don't do this in the dead of winter, with the wind trying to knock your balloons over as you try to attach duct tape to A TREE, with a random kid riding his bike and almost dying when he cranes his neck to see what lunacy you are attempting, with paint splattering onto you, and having to run around trees to warm up! Not that we did this.
